You search for accommodation via our website under available accommodation . Here you can filter by area, size, price and move-in date. When you have found a property that suits you, fill out the contact form on the page or contact the letting manager at the rental property - we will inform you of the further process.

If an Open House is planned, it is possible to register for this directly on the site, and in that case it will be possible to apply for the accommodation in connection with the Open House event.

When you apply for housing, we collect your information from RKI, and we reserve the right to cancel any offer of housing if you are registered with RKI.

No, it does not cost anything to apply for housing at norhjem. You only pay something when you have been offered a home, have accepted it and have to sign a lease and pay the moving-in costs. You will find the moving-in costs under the individual rental.

Yes, you are welcome to apply for multiple homes at the same time. We recommend that you apply for all homes that realistically meet your needs. This will increase your chances of finding a home faster.

If you are looking for student accommodation, it is possible to sign up for the waiting list at the Student Housing Office in Copenhagen and RIU Roskilde. You can read more about student accommodation here .

It is currently not possible to sign up for the waiting list for our other homes, so we encourage you to keep an eye on our website, where the homes are continuously posted.

You will receive your rental contract when you have been offered a home and have accepted it. The contract is sent digitally so you can review and sign it at your leisure. Only when the contract is signed by both parties is the rental agreement finally in place.

When you move in, you usually have to pay a deposit. The deposit usually consists of a security deposit, first month's rent, utilities and any prepaid rent. The deposit serves as security for any damages or missed payments.

The exact amount is always stated in your rental contract, and you will be sent a total bill in good time, so you know exactly what you have to pay and when.

Prior to moving in, you will receive information about key collection times and any move-in inspection. Typically, you will receive this 10-14 days before moving in.

Please note that move-in will be postponed to the first business day immediately following the takeover day if this falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.

On the day of move-in, you will typically meet a representative from the landlord who will go through the property with you and record any faults and deficiencies. You will then be given the keys and can move in.

norhjem does not provide moving services. You must therefore arrange moving assistance yourself. If you have questions about access, elevators, parking for moving trucks or similar at the property, we will be happy to help you clarify this before you move.

The possibility of having pets depends on the individual property and your lease. In some homes, pets are allowed by agreement, while in others they are not. Always check the property advertisement and your lease or contact us if you are in doubt.

Parking options vary from property to property. Some properties have their own parking spaces or underground parking, while others have public parking at the curb. You can see what parking options are available at the specific property in the property ad, or you can ask us directly.

Yes, some of the housing we manage is student housing and is suitable for young people in education. The student housing in Copenhagen and Ballerup is rented out via the waiting list at the Student Housing Office in Copenhagen , and the student housing in Roskilde is rented out through RIU Roskilde .

You must be studying and be able to document this in order to rent a student residence – for example, with a letter of admission or student/apprenticeship contract. Student inspections are carried out annually in properties with study requirements.

Housing allowance is a tax-free subsidy that can be applied for by anyone living in rented accommodation. You are entitled to housing benefit if:

• you live permanently in Denmark

• use the home for year-round living

• the home has a kitchen with running water and a drain for wastewater

For the assessment of whether and how much you can get in housing allowance includes:

• the household's total income and assets

• the amount of rent

• the size

• the number of residents in household

You cannot get housing benefit for a single room.
